Ferrovanadium is an alloy of alkaline earth metals, used to obtain a fine-crystalline structure of steel, increasing the impact strength and resistance of steel against alternating loads, increasing hardenability and durability against vacation.
Ferrovanadium is produced crushed in pieces weighing no more than 5 kg. The amount of fines passing through a 10x10 mm sieve is should not exceed 5% of the batch mass; the amount of fines passing through a 2x2 mm sieve is no more than 3% of the batch weight.
