Ferroalloys
Graphite and graphite electrodes
Ferrotitanium is an alloying alloy of iron and titanium, obtained by reduction or remelting.
Ferrotitanium FTi-35 is used in the production of steel for deoxidation and degassing, as an alloying element, for production of electric welding electrodes, in the production of stainless and heat-resistant steels; Titanium binds carbon into titanium carbide, which improves weldability and corrosion resistance. Typically, steel containing ferrotitanium has improved mechanical properties.

Ferrotitanium is supplied in the form of crushed and sieved particles. Particle size ranges should be as shown in the following table (the mass of the under-size product is established for the point of delivery of the material to the buyer):
Size class | Size of pieces, mm | Mass fraction of product in the batch, %, no more | |
oversize | under-slat | ||
1 | 3.15 - 200 | 10 No piece shall exceed 1.15 times the maximum limit of the specified particle range in two or three directions. |

3 | 3.15 - 50 | 8 | |
4 | 3.15 - 25 | 10 | |
5 | 3.15 - 10 | 15 | |

Ferrotitanium is produced in pieces weighing no more than 15 kg.
The amount of fines passing through a sieve with mesh sizes of 10x10 mm for FTi-35 ferrotitanium should not exceed 10%.
When producing ferrotitanium for the production of welding materials, the amount of fines is not standardized.
Pieces of ferrotitanium, both in the fracture and on the surface, should not be contaminated with sand, slag and other foreign matter
materials.
Traces of non-stick materials and oxide film are allowed.
